      Error: "The program name setting must be a number for the selected post" when writing code in Fusion 360

      The program cannot post because of an issue with the naming convention in the setup.

      Issue

       
      Name/Number: The program name setting must be a number for the selected post. A number is commonly required when the post uses it as the O-number or similar. 

      Answer



      Setup

      1. Open the affected Setup
      2. Navigate to the Post Process tab
      3. Remove any letters or spaces from the Program Name/Number

      NC Program

      1. Open the NC Program
      2. Remove any letters or spaces from the Program Name/number
