      Error: "The data held about the start point and, the endpoint is inconsistent..." or "The data held about the endpoint is inconsistent..." when writing an NC program in PowerMill

      Prompted with an error message when trying to post-process toolpaths in an NC Program "The data held about the start point, and the endpoint is inconsistent" or "The data held about the endpoint is inconsistent"

      Issue

      The error is caused by checking to detect toolpaths where data had not been saved correctly.
      Appended toolpath ( with CTRL + ) are considered not correct.
       

      Answer

       

      Edit the toolpath connections of the problematic toolpath

      1. Activate the toolpath

      2. Home tab > Toolpath Setup group > Toolpath connections

      3. Toggle to the Start and end point page

      4. Press Apply

      Test the NC Program to see if it will write now. If not, go to the next step.

      1. Repeat steps 1 and 2 above

      2. Toggle to the Safe Area page

      3. Press Calculate to update the rapid and plunge clearance

      4. Press Apply

      Test the NC Program to see if it will write now.
